The agenda went around the current crisis and the learnings from it, as well as the development of hotel chains at the present times and focus on operating cost optimization.

Participation was quite high with ca. 400 industry representatives and this key information:

• In 2020 the Revenue per Available Room (RevPAR) went dramatically down to minus 60% vs. 2019 (big cities such as Warsaw and Kraków over minus 80%).
• The general forecast is: In 2023 (latest 2024) the RevPAR might be on the level of 2019 (means average 75%).
• Experts pointed out the uncertainty of the government’s decisions, including a particularly restrictive policy towards hotels in Poland and limited support for their industry.
• Hoteliers hope that conference market will recover after the restrictions and the vaccination of the population’s majority, but they indicate that it is difficult to predict when this might be, because the actual situation is still unsure.
