Member Spotlight: Nationwide and Vario. Giving Back to Local Communities

For our Greek member VARIO, community support takes the form of a long-established voluntary blood donation initiative.

This year’s campaign was organised in cooperation with the Association of Volunteer Blood Donors under the message: „Summer continues. The need for blood as well.“

By encouraging employees to donate blood and support local healthcare needs, VARIO demonstrates how collective action can make a meaningful difference and contribute to the wellbeing of the wider community. Find more details here.

 

Another great example comes from Nationwide in the UK. Nationwide sponsors a local cricket club that is particularly important to one of its employees.

As part of this commitment, the company also provided the employee with a paid volunteering day to support the club during one of its biggest matches of the year.

By combining community sponsorship with employee volunteering, Nationwide demonstrates how businesses can strengthen local communities while supporting causes that are meaningful to their employees. Find more details here.
